Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do custom orders work?

Email baker@ernestlivingbakery.com or text 214-738-5560 with what you want, how many you need, your preferred timing, and any dietary notes. I’ll confirm availability, pickup timing, and payment details before baking.

How much notice do you need?

For standard sourdough or bagel orders, give me at least 48 hours when possible. Larger or more specific custom orders may need more lead time.

What do you make?

My current custom-order offerings include classic sourdough bread, sourdough New York bagels, gluten-free sourdough bread, and custom requests when timing allows.

Do you still sell at the farmers market?

Not currently. I have stepped away from the farmers market and am only taking custom orders at this time.

How should I store the bread?

Store bread or bagels in an airtight container at room temperature. They typically stay fresh for almost a week. For longer storage, freeze them and thaw at room temperature.

Do your breads have preservatives?

No. My breads and bagels are made without preservatives.

What flour do you use?

My standard sourdough products use unbleached, unbrominated flour. My New York-style sourdough bagels use a flour approach I keep private. My gluten-free sourdough uses gluten-free ingredients and a separate gluten-free starter I created from scratch.

Is the gluten-free sourdough safe for people with celiac disease or severe allergies?

The gluten-free sourdough is made with gluten-free ingredients and a gluten-free starter. If you have celiac disease or a severe allergy, contact me before ordering so we can discuss your needs and whether my process is appropriate for you.

Is your bread vegan?

The standard sourdough bread is made without animal products. For custom orders or specialty items, ask before ordering.

How do I pay?

Payment details are confirmed when I accept the order. If Square payment links are already configured, use Square as the preferred payment method.
